Frequently Asked Questions

Cuberto Teal 1

General

What is dye sublimation?

Dye sublimation printing is a wonderful option for those who want to create high-quality, long-lasting prints. The process uses heat, pressure and time to transfer images from specially printed papers onto fabric or suitable textiles.

This results in prints that are long lasting and have a deep, rich colour. In addition, the prints are durable and can withstand repeated washings.

Best of all, dye sublimation printing is relatively simple and straightforward, making it a great choice for those who are new to printing. So if you’re looking for a printing process that produces beautiful, lasting results, be sure to give dye sublimation a try.

You can read more about our sublimation printing services here.

How long does printing take?

Our turn around times are generally around 7 to 10 working days +shipping

Do you provide samples?

We sure do! In fact we encourage samples prior to production so that you can see our colour vibrancy and print quality and confirm that your design is printing out exactly how you are expecting it to.

If you have any specific concerns or features that you want to highlight, we will be happy to address them in your sample. Just let us know what you need and we’ll get it sorted for you.

After all, we want you to be confident that you’re getting exactly what you’re looking for – nothing less. So go ahead and request a sample today, and see for yourself just how good we are!

How long do samples take?

Samples tax approximately 2 to 3 working days to be printed and sent. If colour matching or artwork adjustments are required then sampling can take a little longer and you’ll be advised at the time of the request.

What is your minimum print run?

Our minimum print run is 5m per fabric, however you can print multiple designs within this 5m amount.

Are the designs listed on your website free to use?

Yes, all of the designs featured on our website are free to print onto any of our stocked base fabrics. Our prices work based on the fabric selected.

What are your printing prices?

Our prices are very competitive and can be accessed in your Toolbox on our Order Hub platform.

Artwork

Can I print my own artwork?

You sure can. Have a read of our commission printing services for more details

What type of files do you accept?

We only accept PDFs saved in Compatibility Mode: Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3) File types can greatly affect the output, from the way objects render to the way colours print.

For this reason we specify the PDF Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3) as it is tried and tested with our software and printers.

Can I print photographs?

Yes, you can print photographs! The quality of the photo taken is very important and will determine how well it can print.

Can you help with my artwork?

Yes, we offer simple graphic and textile design services in the form of repeating and small adjustments.

We don’t provide extensive services such as creating completely new designs, however we can refer you on to a few designers that could possibly assist.

You can read more about our artwork services here.

Colour

Will my print match what I see on screen?

On screen colours are great to use as a guide of what you are after but not to expect to print the same.

The reason for this is that computer screens display using RGB colours (even if your file is in CMYK mode) and all computer screens display colour differently.

As our printing process uses CMYK inks this means that it is very likely the colours you are seeing on screen will not print out the same on the fabric.

We always recommend requesting a sample prior to ordering bulk so that you can physically check the printed colours and confirm they are to your liking.

Do you offer a colour matching service?

We sure do! If you need something colour matched, you can quote Pantone colours or you can send in a physical swatch or item that you want us to match to.

In order for us to colour match, the files supplied must be in vector format.

You can learn more about our colour matching services here.

Do you print in RGB or CMYK?

Our inks are CMYK inks, as RGB is a screen only colourspace. That being said, we can print files that are in either CMYK or RGB format.

Fabrics

Can you print on natural fibres?

We sure can! We have now introduced natural fibre printing, in addition to our sublimation printing for Polyesters.

You can learn more about our natural printing services here.

Can I print on a fabric other than the ones listed on your site?

Yes, this is called commission printing. Providing the fabric is Polyester and contains no Nylon content at all, then we can print to it.

We recommend sending in a small sample of your fabric before ordering any rolls so that we can test it and make sure it prints well

What are your allowances for faults in a print run?

Due to the nature of textiles, faults can be inevitable and in general a 3% tolerance of the total meterage ordered is deemed acceptable.
